Conditions and Acceptable Use Policy
WebTent provides Internet Domain Name Registration, World Wide Web page
hosting and Electronic Mail services.
WebTent's general policy is to act as a neutral provider of hosting services to the global Internet. WebTent reserves the right to suspend or cancel a customer's access to any or all services provided by WebTent when WebTent decides that the account has been inappropriately used.
Payment Policies
All pricing is guaranteed for the term of payment received. You may make payments by check, money order or credit card. Credit Card payments are billed automatically each month. Payments can be paid in 3 (quarterly), 6 (semi-yearly), or 12 month (yearly) cycles. Checks returned unpaid (NSF) will be assessed a $25 charge.
All payments are due upon invoice, payable in US dollars. Should payment in full of any invoice not be received by WebTent within thirty (30) days after activation or renewal, WebTent may impose a debt service charge amounting to one and one-half percent (1.5%) of the overdue balance (or such lesser amount as may be required by law) for each month or fraction there of the overdue amount remains unpaid. In the event that any amount remains unpaid thirty (30) days after presentation of invoice, WebTent may withhold or suspend services.
Refunds Policy
Every new WebTent web hosting plans carries a 30 day money back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with our services within the first 30 days of account creation, you will be given a full refund of the contract amount excluding setup fees.
Setup fees are refundable for the following reasons only: (1) the account order is canceled prior to activation; or (2) the domain name was not available at the InterNIC.
Our contracts are based on month by month terms (unless otherwise specified). The full contract amount less any setup fees will be refunded if WebTent is notified within the first 30 days following activation. No refund is available after the 30th day.
Refund Policy for Renewals
Our contracts will automatically renew for an additional term (monthly,
quarterly, etc.) equal to that of the previous term. Renewals of
web hosting contracts will be refunded only if WebTent
is notified of termination of service 5 business days prior to the
renewal date. No refunds will be granted for notifications received
less than 5 business days before the contract renewal.
Server Use
Web sites are to be used by the primary domain owner only. Customers are not permitted to resell (or give away) web hosting services off of their web site to other parties. Web hosting services are allowing a separate, third party to host content on your web. Exceptions to this include ad banners, classified ads, and personal ads. We may grant other exceptions to this policy, but you should check to see if your intended use is acceptable. WebTent reserves the right to refuse service and/or access to it's servers to anyone. WebTent expressly forbids any server use for distribution, storing, processing, or otherwise handling in any way the following:
- Illegal material - This includes copyrighted works (ie. commercial mp3 music files), and any material in violation of any Federal, State or Local regulation.
- Adult material - Includes all pornography, erotic images, or otherwise lewd or obscene content. The designation of 'adult material' is left entirely to the discretion of WebTent.
- Warez, et. al. - Includes pirated software, phreaking, hacking, password cracking, IP spoofing, etc... and any sites which provide 'links to' or 'how to' information about such material.
- Spam & UCE - This includes sending unsolicited junk mail through our mail servers, and/or referencing any content hosted on our servers in a spam email message or spam newsgroup posting.
Violation of server use policy will result in immediate account suspension.
In addition to the above, WebTent may decide to designate, at our sole discretion, other content and/or server use to be inappropriate. Again, if you are not sure, ask.
Unlimited Use Policy
Unlimited use is for a single domain, with all content in that domain related directly to and linkable from your web. Our disk space is not to be used for storage or backups of any kind. Archiving software and/or creating backup webs on our servers are not permitted.
WebTent offers an unlimited use policy by maintaining very large ratios of bandwidth and disk space per customer. In rare cases, we may find a customer to be using server resources to such an extent that they may jeopardize server performance and resources for other customers. For example, a graphic design firm may want to upload 1+Gigs of image files. In such instances, we reserve the right (on a case-by-case basis) to impose customer usage limits as necessary for the consideration of all customers. In short, we do our best to provide all the resources our customers may need for web hosting while reserving the right to restrict any one customer's use so as not to monopolize server resources.
Domain Name Registration Agreement
When WebTent processes a
request for a new domain name, we submit a separate registration on behalf
of our customers to our registrar partner, 4Domains.com.
4Domains.com is an ICANN accredited registrar agency that works
together with all Internet Presence Providers (such as "WebTent.com") to manage domain name
registration and visibility for the Internet community. All Internet
domain names are subject the 4Domains.com's service agreement.
